So there I was, all sound asleep snuggled up in bed with my hotties (bottles, not Nick and Hodges unfortunately!), when all of a sudden I wake up and everything's shaking!!! I thought my chimney had finally lost the will to cling on any longer and was falling off the roof. Next door rang and said, what the bloody hell was that?! We went outside and looked all round the house, but nothing. The kids woke up, the dog thought it was great fun going out in the middle of the night (mind you, the other night she was out til 6am, but that's another story) and we wondered what the heck was going on.
Should I ring the fire brigade? The police? Should we all get out of the house?? It didn't help that the day before I had watched the episode of CSI where a cellar beam had collapsed and the whole house had come down, crushing three little old ladies! Anyway, in the end I phoned the kids' dad, and he said it had happened to him too! PHEW!! Then of course I had to ring my parents to see if they were okay, and my sister to see if she was (she had slept through the whole thing, typical!). So there it is on the news this morning - the biggest earthquake in Britain for 25 years!!! How cool is that?!
The power of this earth never ceases to amaze me.
